Graduate Study Scholarships

Even though having a graduate degree is going to give a student the advanced education as well as training that is necessary to be a success in their chosen field, it’s also something that can cause them financial hardship, and that is why graduate study scholarships are so important.  Here are some of the graduate study scholarships that can be instrumental in helping to pay for graduate school.

Beinecke Scholarship

This first one of the graduate study scholarships is one that’s available to those students who are planning pursue some graudate study at either doctoral or master’s level in humanities, arts, or social sciences. In order to successfully apply, the student has to be a junior at the college level and the person also has to be nominated by a member of the faculty.  Those students that are selected are going to receive $4,000 when they enter their graduate school and then $30,000 during the rest of the student’s studies. Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program

The second of the graduate study scholarships is through this program.  This program provides the funding for education to the students who are going to the initial year of their doctoral program or program for master’s degree in either the arts, the humanities, or the social sciences.  In order to be able to apply, a person has to be either enrolled or accepted into a graduate program that is accredited as well as being a citizen of the U.S.  For more information, go to ed.gov.

Fellowship Program Through Council of Independent Colleges

This program provides the funding for those doctoral students who are outstanding and who are completing the degree at certain universities and colleges in Ireland, Great Britain, and the United States. In order to apply, a student has to go after a degree in a field that’s been approved, which includes philosophy, languages, history, or literature. Fellows are going to receive as much as $50,000, and if the person has academic progress which is satisfactory, they may find that it’s renewed the next year. There is more information at cic.edu.
