Single parents face a lot of things and have to make sacrifices other people don’t have to, but with education grants for single parents, a good college education doesn’t have to be one of them. TEACH Grant

It’s a program that’s for the single parents who wish to become a teacher at a private or public elementary school that is going to include children who are coming from families with low incomes.  The grant is up to as much as $4,000 annually.

Pell Grant

This is the second of the education grants for single parents .This is a grant that is from the government and it’s associated with other financial aid from the government but it doesn’t have to be repaid. It’s usually only given to those who are undergraduates and still working for a degree.   The most a person can get each year is $4,500 but it’s going to vary depending on the circumstances.

FSOG

This is the third of the education grants for single parents .This grant is from the federal government and it’s something that single parents might qualify for if they have already qualified for the Pell Grant. It’s something that doesn’t have to be repaid and it’s specifically for undergraduate students that are really in need of financial help. The actual amount is going to vary depending on the student but the amount each year can be anywhere from $100 to $4,000.

Academic Competitiveness Grant

This is the fourth of the education grants for single parents. If you’ve already gotten a Pell Grant, you are also going to be eligible for this grant. There are specific guidelines that must be followed as to when the student must have graduated from high school and this grant is going to range from approximately $750 to as much as $1,300 each year. In order to keep the grant the student has to have at least 3.0 GPA.
